Turtle

Turtles are reptiles belonging to the order Testudines. Their most distinguishing feature is a hard, protective shell (carapace) made of bony plates, which shields their soft bodies. Turtles are found worldwide, inhabiting a variety of environments including oceans, freshwater bodies, and land. They are typically omnivorous or herbivorous, depending on the species. Sea turtles are adapted for swimming, while tortoises are primarily terrestrial. Turtles are known for their longevity, with lifespans often reaching several decades or even over a century.
