Walrus
Walruses are large marine mammals found in the Arctic regions, distinguished by their prominent tusks (elongated canine teeth), thick, wrinkled skin, and bristly whiskers. Both male and female walruses possess tusks, which they use to haul themselves out of the water onto ice, dig for food on the seabed, and for defense. They primarily inhabit shallow waters near the Arctic sea ice, foraging on the seabed for mollusks, clams, and other invertebrates. Walruses are highly social animals, often gathering in large herds of hundreds. They are a significant species within the Arctic ecosystem.
