Armadillo
Armadillos are mammals native to Central and South America, distinguished by the bony, armor-like shell covering their bodies, composed of bony plates overlaid with keratin. This 'armor' provides protection against predators. Armadillos are burrowing animals with strong claws, adept at digging. They are primarily nocturnal and feed on insects, worms, invertebrates, and some plant matter. When threatened, some species (like the nine-banded armadillo) can roll into a ball.
