Jaguar

Jaguar

Jaguars are the largest big cats in the Americas and the third-largest in the world. They are characterized by their powerfully built bodies, exceptionally strong bite force, and rosetted coat patterns (spots within spots), though some individuals are melanistic (black panthers). Jaguars inhabit tropical rainforests, swamps, and grasslands in Central and South America. They are opportunistic predators with a broad diet, including deer, tapirs, capybaras, caimans, and even turtles. Jaguars are strong swimmers and often hunt in or near water.
