Lion

Lion

The lion is the second-largest living cat after the tiger. Male lions possess a prominent mane, which is one of their most distinctive characteristics. Lions are social animals that live in groups called "prides," typically consisting of several females, their cubs, and a few adult males. They primarily inhabit the savannas and grasslands of sub-Saharan Africa and are apex predators that mainly hunt large herbivores such as wildebeest, zebras, and buffalo. A lion's roar can be heard from up to 8 kilometers away on a quiet night.
