Peacock
Peacocks are large birds in the pheasant family (Phasianidae), particularly famous for the males (peafowl), which possess magnificent, elongated trains (formed from upper tail coverts) adorned with striking 'eyespots.' Female peafowl (peahens) have comparatively drab plumage. Peafowl are native to Asia, inhabiting forests, farmlands, and scrublands. They are omnivores, feeding on grains, insects, fruits, seeds, and small reptiles. Male peacocks display their trains to attract females during courtship. They are known for their loud and distinctive calls.
