Sloth
Sloths are slow-moving mammals inhabiting the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. They are characterized by their extremely slow metabolism, almost entirely arboreal lifestyle, and long claws (used for hanging upside down from tree branches). There are two types: two-toed and three-toed sloths, and they primarily feed on leaves, buds, and fruits. Their slow metabolism results in a very prolonged digestive process. Sloths spend the majority of their lives sleeping or resting, descending from trees only about once a week to defecate.
