Snow Leopard

Snow Leopard

Snow leopards are elusive big cats inhabiting the high-altitude mountain ranges of Central Asia. They are recognized by their thick, pale grey fur patterned with dark rosettes (for camouflage), long, bushy tails (used for balance and warmth), and adaptations to cold climates. Snow leopards are opportunistic predators, primarily preying on high-mountain mammals like ibex and blue sheep. Their elusive nature and shy behavior have earned them the moniker 'ghost of the mountains.' Snow leopards are endangered, threatened by habitat loss and poaching.
