Starfish

Starfish

Starfish, also known as sea stars, are echinoderms belonging to the class Asteroidea. Their most distinctive feature is typically having five radially arranged arms (though some species have more), giving them a star-like shape. Starfish inhabit the seabed in oceans worldwide, from intertidal zones to the deep sea. They are usually carnivorous or omnivorous, feeding on bivalves, worms, sea urchins, and other bottom-dwelling organisms. Starfish possess remarkable regenerative abilities, capable of regrowing an entire body from a detached arm.
