Toucan

Toucan

Toucans are brightly colored birds belonging to the family Ramphastidae, found in the tropical forests of Central and South America. Their most striking feature is their enormous, colorful bill, which is lightweight despite its size and has serrated edges. The bill is thought to be used for thermoregulation, attracting mates, and reaching fruit on branches. They primarily feed on fruit but will also consume insects, lizards, and even bird eggs. Toucans are typically seen in pairs or small groups and have loud calls.
